Services provided: As part of the National Association of Mental Health, this Kingston-based charity raises awareness and offers support through providing information on mental health, advice for service users on issues such as accommodation and a quarterly newsletter. The group runs patients’ forums and a programme of mental health awareness training for the local borough, accessed by businesses, organisations and private individuals living in the local area. We regularly run consultation days and open days. As a team, we travel across the Trust to sit on various panels and steering groups which focus on service improvement in a variety of areas. We use the opinions of service users to facilitate change at strategic levels.

Services provided: The Fircroft Trust is a local and independent charity based in Kingston that helps people with mental health problems and /or learning disabilities to lead independent lives in the community. The charity runs the Fircroft Day Centre based in Surbiton for people with mental health problems and also has residential homes for people with learning disabilities.

Services provided: KCN is an independent voluntary sector charity based in Kingston upon Thames and has been supporting unpaid carers for more than a decade.

Services provided: The areas of expertise covered by KREG include: education, employment, public relations, interpretation, women’s issues, refugee issues, disabilities, volunteering, health, policing, translation, immigration, fundraising and housing.
As part of the service there is case work, which helps individuals or groups who are experiencing racial harassment by providing counselling support, advice and understanding on how to deal with the situation. There are interpreters who help people who cannot speak English but need to access the system. It is also a point of contact for new arrivals, especially refugees and a meeting place for minority organisations or groups.

It can help you sort out any concerns or queries about the care provided and is able to offer guidance through the different services available from the NHS or other organisations.
