Trust Medical Director Dr Emma Whicher has been appointed NHSI London Regional Medical Director, with a view to take up her role in early 2017.
Chief Executive David Bradley said “We are very pleased for Dr Whicher and are grateful for the contribution she has made in moving the Trust forward the past four years, particularly around the Quality agenda. Her expertise as a clinician in mental health will be invaluable to have at a regional level for NHSI. We look forward to working with her in her new role and wish her all the best in her new endeavour.”
Dr Whicher has been the Trust Medical Director for four years, starting in November 2012.
Dr Whicher said: “I am excited to be taking up the role of Regional Medical Director at NHSI and look forward to improving healthcare for people across London. I have really enjoyed my role as Trust Medical Director the past four years. I am proud to have improved the quality of patient care and to help deliver our improved hospital rating by the Care Quality Commission. I am pleased I will continue to practice as a psychiatrist one day a week in the Trust and would like to extend my gratitude to the many colleagues who I have had the pleasure of working with during my time as medical director here.”
An interim for Dr Whicher’s role will be appointed shortly.
