Quality Awards 2018 – Annual Awards Celebration of Mental Health in South West London

 

On Thursday 25 January SWLSTG staff and leaders came together for the annual Quality Awards, an event which celebrates our staff and the fantastic work they do on a daily basis.

There were 12 awards handed out at the event, including: Mental Health Advocate Award, Lifetime Achievement Award, Chair’s Award and Chief Executive Leadership Award.

Deaf Staff break boundaries for mental health services

 

On 31 January, two inspiring Trust Deaf staff members will take part in an exhibition and presentation at the Royal College of Nursing which is being run by Healthy Deaf Minds.

SWLSTG shortlisted for award at the National Children and Young People’s Mental Health Positive Practice Awards

South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust is delighted to have been shortlisted for an award in this year’s National Children and Young People’s Mental Health Positive Practice Awards.

The Trust has been shortlisted in the Partnership Working/ Co-Production Category for the Debating Mental Health project, which ran November 16-April 17.

Trust teams up with Burdett Trust for Nursing and Kingston University to offer leadership training to BAME nursing workforce

South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust is proud to have secured a large grant from the Burdett Trust for Nursing to devise a bespoke leadership development programme for its Black, Asian, Minority and Ethnic (BAME) nursing workforce.

The Springfield Cashiers Office is moving

From 4 December 2017 the Cashiers Office at Springfield University Hospital will be in a different location.

The new Cashiers Office will be a short distance from the current one, and will be accessible through  Entrance 4 of Main Building 14 (Just to the left of the current main entrance).

Mental Health Trust wins London Health Innovation award for improving depression in older people care homes

On 2 November 2017, South West London and St. Georges Mental Health Trust (SWLSTG) won the London Health Innovation Award for improving depression in older people care homes.

The award, which also provides a Health Innovation Grant, recognised the excellent work of SWLSTG’s Wandsworth Behaviour and Communication Support Service (BACSS).

Pioneering Mental Health Trust celebrates winning national ‘Nursing in Mental Health’ award at prestigious Nursing Times Awards

On Thursday 2 November South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust (SWLSTG) celebrated a double win at the prestigious Nursing Times Awards. 

The Lotus Assessment Suite won the Nursing in Mental Health Award and our Wandsworth Behaviour and Communication Support Service (BACSS) was shortlisted  in the Care of Older People Award.

Joan Bicknell memorial event pays tribute to the first British Female professor of Psychiatry

On Thursday, 19 October, South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust and St George’s University of London, together with Baroness Sheila Hollins, celebrated the life work and legacy of Joan Bicknell with a memorial event at Springfield Hospital in Tooting, where Joan did much of her pioneering clinical work.
