Our services

National Deaf Services provides a range of comprehensive mental health services for deaf people, including services for adults, a child and family service, psychotherapy and counselling and an established community home network.

In addition, we are committed to: 

the employment of deaf staff participation and training

patient involvement in all aspects of care

respect and promotion of deaf culture and language

 

 

 

 

 

 


We offer a variety of treatment options and support each patient in making appropriate choices.

The services offer deaf people assessment and management of psychiatric, behavioural, psychological, communication and social problems.


National deaf services staff membersMultidisciplinary teams deliver services at home, school, satellite clinics, outpatient, day patient and inpatient settings. South West London and St George's National Deaf Services incorporates:

  • 18-bed inpatient unit
  • 18 places in day patient unit
  • 20 places in local clubhouse
  • outpatient services
  • psychotherapy and counselling
  • associated community housing for more than 50 deaf people

 

 

Deaf Child and Family Service:

  • outpatient clinic
  • family therapy clinic
  • home visits
  • inpatient service

Where appropriate, the multidisciplinary community team will visit people at home or at the locations throughout the area served. There is also a weekly drop-in clinic at Old Church, Bedford Hill.

Regular consultation is provided to:

Royal School for the Deaf, Margate

Royal School for the Deaf, Exeter

Oak Lodge School, Wandsworth

Accommodation is provided by Sign, Harding Housing Association and MIND which includes a mix of rehabilitation and long stay places in a variety of settings, including registered care homes, group homes, supported bedsits and ordinary flats.
