"My new skills enable me to develop a collaborative partnership which empowers the service user to develop skills to better manage on a day-to-day basis"
Judie Fairweather, participant on ADP, Deputy Team Manager, Wandsworth Crisis and Home Treatment Team
The ADP is an opportunity for healthcare professionals to enhance and develop the knowledge and skills needed to support service users with long-term conditions to self-manage. Within Wandsworth we are focusing on depression as a long-term condition, but what you learn will apply to all long-term conditions. The ADP is delivered by a lay tutor (i.e. someone who has experience of self-management and depression) and a healthcare professional.
Being part of this national initiative means that the healthcare services in Wandsworth are at the forefront of innovative techniques for the recovery and increased well-being of people suffering from long-term conditions.

The ADP consists of 6 hour training, workshops either run over 2 x 3 hour sessions or 2 x 3 hour sessions.
It is open to all healthcare professionals within Wandsworth Primary Care Trust and South West London and St George's NHS Trust.
There is no cost to attend the programme and back pay is available for GPs in Wandsworth who would like to attend.
