  • give local people, service users, their carers and our staff a greater say in how our Trust is run as members and governors
  • plan our services over three years or longer as a result of stronger funding contracts with our commissioners
  • have more control over our finances, with the opportunity to borrow up to agreed limits and keep any surplus
  • use these funds to improve buildings and services instead of having to compete for central government funding with other NHS organisations
  • become better at listening and responding to the views of local people including our service users and staff.
