Director of Communications and Stakeholder Engagement

Ranjeet joined the Trust in November 2013 and is responsible for leading the Trust’s Communications, Stakeholder Engagement  and Public Affairs programme.

Ranjeet has over 20 years’ of marketing and communication experience working in some of the country’s most challenging public sector arenas. Prior to joining the Trust Ranjeet was Head of Marketing and Communications at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust for six years where he transformed the organisations approach to communications and patient engagement.

Since joining the Trust Ranjeet has built an award winning communications, public affairs and stakeholder engagement team leading a number of innovations that directly benefit patient care. These include achieving the Information Standard, the creation of standardised patient information, new public website and the implementation of Skype across the organisation and for patient consultations. Ranjeet was Senior Responsible Officer for leading the Trust through one of England’s largest mental health reconfiguration consultations as part the £160m Estates Modernisation Programmes. He is also the Senior Responsible Officer for the Trust’s Contact Centre which aims to provide easier access to our services for patients.

Ranjeet has held a number of senior communication roles throughout his career including acting as Communications Adviser for the Department of Health working on the provider communications strategy for implementing the 2012 ‘Liberating the NHS’ reforms. At Lambeth Council Ranjeet was the Head of Marketing and responsible for managing a team of 22 covering all external communications across the council departments. He has also spent time working with MPs at the Houses of Parliament and supporting local councillors with community programmes.

Ranjeet is passionate about public services, community engagement and access to services. He is an advisor to the national charity Citizens UK. Ranjeet sits on the NHSI communications development steering group and is a member of the not-for-profit Missenden Group.
