Professor Andy Kent
Andy was appointed as one of our non-executive directors in August 2012.
He is executive dean of the Faculty of Health, Social Care and Education, a joint enterprise between Kingston University and St George's, University of London, training the nurses, midwives, allied health professionals, social care professionals and teachers. Prior to this Andy was Dean of Education at St George's, where his responsibilities included medical and biomedical education, international development and student experience.
Andy trained in medicine at Guy's Hospital Medical School and began work in psychiatry in Richmond. Since then he has worked in every borough in South West London and in most of our services. Andy has a clinical background in general adult psychiatry and was a consultant with three different community mental health teams in our Trust before specialising in perinatal psychiatry.
He has served as R and D Director for us, lead clinician for clinical audit and chair of the Medical Staff Committee. Andy also has experience working as a Non-Executive Director of Together for Wellbeing, a national mental health charity. He continues to work as a governor of a non-selecting comprehensive school.
Andy is a member of the Quality and Safety Assurance Committee and has a particular interest in clinical quality, education, and research and innovation. He works clinically one day a week.
Dr Ali Hasan
Dr Ali joined us in May 2015. He trained as a doctor at St George's Hospital Medical School, and practiced medicine in teaching hospitals in London.
Following clinical practice, he joined an international management consultancy firm and subsequently worked as regional medical director at a major UK healthcare company as well as being a board member of an early stage medical products company.
He has also undertaken independent advisory work. He currently works as Head of Clinical Risk Operations at Vitality Health.
Jean joined us as non-executive director in November 2011, having previously been on a PCT Board.
Jean trained as a social worker and has over 40 years' experience working in housing and social services, including children's and adult's social care. She was a senior manager in the North West and in London until 2012. Jean then chaired a Local Safeguarding Children Board for five years. Jean is a Trustee of Change, Grow, Live and a Trustee of Open Age
