Safe staffing levels

Safe staffing levels

One of the objectives of the The Mental Health Staffing Framework is to give mental health leaders the skills and knowledge to plan and deliver safe staffing for inpatient services.

All trusts must publish information about the number of nursing staff working on each ward. This is required by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

We have information boards on each ward, indicating planned and actual staffing levels for every shift. We also publish a month-by-month, cross-site summary on this website.

Work is underway on a guide for community mental health services. It will add to the work of the Mental Health Taskforce on establishing the right balance of staff when dealing with those with mental health conditions.

Publication of expenditure

Publication of expenditure

All public sector expenditure is published to show how public funds are used, to allow government to be held to account and control costs.

All NHS organisations are obliged to publish a regular summary of all financial transactions in excess of £25,000.

A list of these transactions has to be published monthly in the CSV file format on their public websites and at data.gov.uk.

Our Trust’s transactions in this category are available to view or download here. This information is updated each month.

More information about financial transparency is available on the government website.

Tenders

Tenders and contracts

We are responsible for buying (commissioning) healthcare services from other providers to meet local health needs.

This commissioning process involves contracting with existing service providers and can include competitive tendering.

As commissioners of healthcare services have have a clear responsibility to make sure we make decisions and commission services fair and openly.  We must get value for money and meet our population’s healthcare needs.

Details of contracts currently being tendered

Tenders, including adverts and other contracts currently available for public tender are in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEC) which is issued daily. You can subscribe and see more information on OJEC website.

Additional information may be made available on request; however details of individual bids while a tender is being processed will be refused if it would damage the commercial interests of anyone.
